Transfer Credit Evaluation

Are you exploring your transfer options?

If so, our transfer specialist is here to help you find your place at IU Southeast! For an unofficial, pre-admission evaluation of your current college credit, please complete the following:

1. Visit our Credit Transfer Service website and use the drop-down boxes to enter information about the college/university you are transferring from.
2. Select the appropriate "Department/Subject" and "Course" for each class you plan to transfer and "Add to Cart." Repeat until all of your courses have been added. *Please note that courses must be completed at the 100-level or higher to transfer and must be a "C" or higher. Please see exceptions for STGEC, TSAPs, and BAS under FAQs.
3. Once you have added all transferable courses to your cart, click "View in Cart."
4. Then select, "Send Your Selections to an Advisor." Within 24-48 hours our transfer specialist will be in touch with you to let you know how your classes will transfer into your intended IU Southeast major program.

Don’t see your college/university or your courses at the link above? Don’t panic!

Just because your college or your courses are not located on the transfer guide website does not mean that we do not accept them. If you can’t find your college/classes on the transfer guide, feel free to email a copy of your coursework (i.e. an unofficial transcript) to transfer@iu.edu along with your name and intended area of study at IU Southeast. Our Transfer Specialist will manually review this information and be back in touch with you in 24-48 hours.

What does UNDISTRIBUTED or UN mean?

When in the cart, does your course list indicate that one or more of your classes transfer in as undistributed credit or UN? If so, that simply means that this course has not been articulated with an IU Southeast equivalent. Once the Transfer Specialist reviews your credit, it may be determined that the UN course, can be used as general education, a general elective, and at times, a course within your intended degree program.

Students who are not awarded credit as anticipated may appeal by submitting the Transfer Appeal form.

Cambridge International A-level and AS-level test credit

Indiana University accepts Cambridge International A-level and AS-level test credit in accordance with university, campus, and department policies. A grade of E or higher is required for credit articulation. Some programs may require a higher score for direct equivalency credit. This policy was adopted by Indiana University Southeast Faculty senate on Nov 18, 2021.

Consult with admissions or your advisor if you have questions about your Cambridge test credit.

Please allow 24-48 business hours for a response. During high volume times, unofficial evaluations may take more time. We recommend applying as soon as possible during these times to ensure you have ample time to be admitted and register for classes. All students will receive an official transfer credit report upon admission.
