Your student home address is your permanent address, usually a parent’s address, where mail will always reach you. This is the only address on your permanent record.

Your local address is where you live while attending IU during the current semester. If you live in a residence hall or university apartment, don’t provide a local address. Residential Programs and Services will update your student housing address instead.

Your student housing address is your residence hall or university apartment address. It’s maintained by Residential Programs and Services and is used in place of a local address.

Your mailing address is used only by the Office of Admissions before you enroll at IU. It’s used for:

You must submit any changes to this address through University Human Resources.
Your diploma address is where your diploma will be sent if you don’t want it sent to your student home address.
